Outdoor Movie Theater

Popular during the mid 20th century, a drive-in outdoor movie theater provided a new movie- watching experience the world was just beginning to see. People could sit with their cars parked in front of a screen to watch films. This was really new-- enchanting,  romantic even. Of course, it was one of those things which represents the richness of American culture. I think this new way of theater-going brought new innovation into the way people saw entertainment. Lovers could explore the outdoor together. Part of the reasons why drive-in outdoor theaters are rare in recent times maybe because of the increase in the quality of digital equipments, and the low prices that they are being sold for.

I confess, even my mother would know so little about the Jukebox era. I myself do feel displaced just by talking about jukebox. But still, put your seatbelt on before we begin our journey back in time! This early 20th century self-service machine, made music cheap and very accessible especially to young people, women in particular.  A lot of things were new about the jukebox; for example, it could be operated by coin, you could find on it your your favorite music, and it was outdoor, that means that you could simply leave the house and be able to listen to music.

Like everything else, it too had to decline and eventually disappeared as more efficient digital equipments started to debut as the twentieth century came to its closed. How was the flight?.
Sony Walkman

We all know what a Sony Walkman looks like when we see one. This now near obsolete electronic, portable, tape player first made its debut in the late 70s.  It's anybody's guess why Sony made such a device. Then, the goal was to provide an alternative to listening to cassette recorders which was only either available in cars or at home. The one quality that stood out about the Sony Walkman is " size." It was smaller than the conventional tape players of its days, which meant that it could go with you outdoor. So, it quickly became the favorable choice of entertainment for people around the world.

With newer and smaller consumer electronics rapidly coming into play, and mega companies like Samsung-- where we see magical devices like the iPads, iPhones, iTunes-- even Sony Walkman do not stand a chance in today's market. Meanwhile however, the innovations we see today with new devices like the iPads and the iPhones, are probably because of the Original inspiration from company like Sony.

Stained Glass Window

The stained glass window of the Middle Ages represents a profound blend of that era's spiritual, and artistic evolution. Even today, this generation's brightest artist would be hard pressed if they were asked to produce work the quality of that period. The Renaissance era was truly a marvelous time-- a time that witnessed the interplay of new artistic feats-- artists that drew heavily from works of the nature of unearthly  Beauty. Look, for example the magnificent iconographies that are embedded in these works, some of them of divine beings. Of course, these works inspired people of the Renaissance era and  the people of the middle towards devotion and spirituality. These works inspire us too when we see them in ancient cathedrals.
I think the decline of the stained glass window may be attributed to the decline in the role of the Church, since the Church was the chief patron of the type of art.

Yellow Pages

Of course, this image is completely recognisable-- even if you're a 10-year- old--  I suspect your parents might have told you at one time or another to go and get the phonebook from behind the door or from some other place. When the Yellow Pages came out, it brought with it lots of advantages including concisely targeted ads, 24 hours telephone service, and it was very cheap.
Now with new, faster and better form of advertising, including countless smartphones and digital personal aids on people's phones, which are there to help you find addresses of people and businesses, the Yellow Pages's death warrant is already signed.
